The Veronese was blown for the first time in 1921, thanks to the intuition of the painter Vittorio Zecchin, artistic director of Venini from 1921 to 1925. The artist took the inspiration from a 1580 painting by Paolo Veronese "The Annunciation of the Virgin", preserved in the Gallerie dell'Accademia in Venice.
The glass work achieved great success, so much so that it became the company's "logo".
